Nicollette Sheridan's days on Wisteria Lane are numbered - she's set to leave Desperate Housewives. The actress, who recently laughed off reports she was to be axed from the hit series, will depart the show this season, according to creator Marc Cherry.

He says, "(Nicollette's character) Edie is going to cross a huge moral boundary that she's never crossed before on the show and it will have devastating consequences for her and lead to a shocking conclusion to her time on Wisteria Lane."

Are you serious? Not good news for Desperate Housewives. She's a popular character . . . wonder how things will work out.

That doesn't sound good at all. Edie is one of the more interesting characters on the show, because you can never guess what she'll do next.

Not for nothing, but Nicole's career wasn't very hot before she got on Desperate Houswives, now she wants to leave the show that put her back on TV?
