RIP Dr. King. You were truly a man that believed in the power of the spoken word rather than violence. You gave your life for what you believed in. Your memory is carried on in the hearts and minds of millions of Americans.

I think along with the death of the Kennedys and America's involvment in Vietnam, King's death played a major role in the loss of innocence in America.

Dr. King was regarded as a dangerous radical by the time of his death, his message of racial empowerment and social and economic equality became a little too alarming, as was his denunciation of the Vietnam War. It's amazing that the federal government has glossed over his "subversive" status in recent
years and has sanitized him as this "super nice guy" who just payed the ultimate price for his cause. Not too many would be willing to follow in his footsteps, I'm sure.

rip dr. king. =( he was a great man.
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase." -Dr. King
He didn't see the entire staircase, yet he took that first step & fought for what he believed in.

RIP Dr. King.

Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.

The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?" But... the good Samaritan reversed the question: "If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?"

And one more of his many quotes that I live by;

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

I've started a few threads and got no replies but the number of views told me that people were at least reading them.
