Default Brown blames Houston for cocaine addiction

By WENN world entertainment news - 3 minutes ago

R+B singer Bobby Brown has blamed his ex-wife Whitney Houston for getting him hooked on hard drugs.

The 39-year-old, whose 15-year marriage to Houston was officially dissolved last year, has accused his former wife of introducing him to cocaine, which led to a spiraling drugs habit.

Brown was convicted of cocaine possession in December and sentenced to a year of community service.

And now the former New Edition star has put the blame solely on Houston.

He writes in his forthcoming autobiography, "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice.

"At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine."

Houston also has a conviction for drug possession after she was arrested at a Hawaiian airport in January 2000. The How Will I Know singer pleaded no contest to possessing marijuana and was ordered to make a donation to an anti-drugs campaign in place of community service.

You are both at fault. Happy now, Bobby?

I don't know, John. You can't make someone do drugs. I think that Bobby and Whitney share equal blame in this matter.

Bobby is such a loser... I'm glad Whitney finally came to her senses and dumped him...

Of course this is one of the many horrible stories about how Whitney ruined his life which will be in his new book.

Bobby's looking for a paycheck.

Way to take the high road, dillhole.

Exactly. He got her hooked on something and from there, she went downhill by trying other stuff like cocaine. I can't wait for Whitney to do a sit-down interview with either Oprah or Diane Sawyer (again ) and tell us the real truth. Bobby has no credibility to me. This is a man who had to be hauled into jail for NOT paying child support; he also beat Whitney and got away with it; he cheated on her...

You're all wrong! It's Dionne's fault.

They are all at fault. Including Dionne. My, is this calling the kettle black? Bobby forgets that he was at fault with how many times he been arrested, abused Whitney, has groupies, etc. I don't think he'll put that on his book.

yes whitney was at fault, but at least she finally saw the sense to dump his ass and kick him to the curb. bobby is a hypocrite- it was mainly because of him that she is in the state that she is in, or was in. this is the man who beat the hell out of whitney and bragged recently in his autobiography that he slept with other women, whilst he was still being married to her

I would've believed Whitney was responsible if it wasn't for the pre-marriage actions. Bobby was the bad boy of r&b, Whitney was the good girl next door that you wanted your son to go out with. Then they get married and suddenly Whitney starts becoming a trainwreck and erratic. What we had for about six months with Britney, we had for ten years with Whitney.

It happens. You have someone in a relationship with someone who does drugs. They tempt you with it and it is downhill from there. Whitney probably became instantly addicted after the first time. What better way for Bobby to "control" his wife then to get her hooked? This way he can cheat, lie and do whatever else he was doing behind her back. Not to mention the abuse he inflicted upon her.

bobby's influence on whitney was detrimental to the extent to which it was damaging to whitney. not just on a physical level- due to the beatings he unleashed upon her, but the emotional trauma she had to endure too. back in those days, who would've expected their marriage to take a turn for the worse? not us. as for the britney comparison, whitney has had her share of problems and whatever your views are on britney's marriage, she is lucky not to have been used and abused by her former partner and treated like a piece of meat. something of which has happened to whitney on countless occassions

he was almost like the 80s/90s version of ike turner; thus the wife beater comparisons and the fact that like ike, he too was part of the music industry, though as a recording artist
