Default Does anybody like this show because they found it funny OR because of its Hokiness?

Just curious what fans like about the Brady Bunch and why?

I'm not sure how to answer this because I do like the show, but while I'm watching more times then not, I wonder why I like it! LOL! This may sound strange, but I've always liked the house, especially the livingroom.

When I was little I liked it because you saw other kids playing.
I watch it now for the memories, I always thought the grass was real in the back yard until recently.

I think it was a little bit of both. And I can relate to it in some way because I grew up with alot of sisters and brothers, and some of the situations also happend to us as kids. I loved the Brady Bunch growing up because it was funny and still is to me. I really can't believe it didn't do all the great in the ratings. But it has to be something funny about it, other wise todays kids wouldn't be watching it. The Brady Bunch will always stand the test of time in my opinion. Plus, I was In love with Cindy as a kid, she was just so cute with them blue eyes.

I honestly can't explain why I love The Brady Bunch....it's just got this magical hold on me...on American pop culture to be exact...I think we're all fascinated by the pefect lives of the Brady's....yes the episodes and conflicts may be unbelievable, but isn't that why we watch TV? To step into someone else's world, someone else's reality?
I think The Brady Bunch will always be relevant, no matter what decade it is. It's just one of those shows...

I have to say yes to both. Watching this show is like comfort food.

Neither, and this takes me back in time, but just two words:

Jan Brady (I guess that says it all)

I have assumed TBB has always been a popular daily or syndicated show (more than in its original primetime run) because it is so full of gimmicks and the styles of the early 70's, which did turn out to be shorter-lived than was thought at the time. It takes the 'perfect family' [like Father Knows Best or Leave it to Beaver], makes it into a blended family unusually 'symmetrical' [dark-haired dad w/ 3 dark-haired boys; blond mom w/ 3 blond-haired girls], adds a wisecracking housekeeper [a nicer version of Hazel], then what do you get?... boy-girl feuds, school problems, jealousy, space battles, conspiracies to hide something, revenge...... all with long hair, bell-bottoms, and words like "groovy" and "out of sight." It just wouldn't have been done as it was and as we can see it other than in that window of time... as "far out" as its contemporary in history, the moon landings.

about the show I like the opening credits and theme tune, the Brady font, the cast and characters. I love the house and all the incidental music but most of all I think I would like to be a Brady and grow up in that family. Not that my own family is bad but the Brady one is a nice ideal.
