"The Time Element" (TZ pilot) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Here's what it says about this episode on Wikipedia:

"The Time Element" is rarely aired on television and it is available only in an Italian DVD box set titled "Ai confini della realtà — I tesori perduti."

Since Wikipedia's not always the most reliable source, I was wondering if anybody could tell me whether or not this episode has ever actually been released in the U.S. I know they released a 28-DVD Twilight Zone set, but it doesn't mention anything about this episode, only the main 156.

The Time Element was not the pilot for the Twilight Zone and is not considered to be an episode of the series. To the best of my knowledge it has never been officially released in the U.S. although bootleg copies can be found with ease. The Time Element may have inspired the Twilight Zone but the pilot episode was Where Is Everybody.

The Time Element can be found at youtube.com but it lacks the ending where Desi Arnaz Sr. came out and offered a rational explanation!
