Cool Hi Bob! (the book)

Has anyone ever read (or heard of) the BNS companion book, Hi Bob! A Self-Help Guide to the Bob Newhart Show, written by Joey Green? It's a lot of fun. It's been out of print for years but you can find it used on Amazon very cheap!

It's sitting on the floor next to the chair where I'm sitting right now. :-) I love that book! However, he does have a few things wrong. Check some other air date guides, and you'll find some discrepancies.

But Joey's book was the ONLY one to have Bill Daily's birthyear as 1927 - the correct one - when everyone else was listing 1928!

I think I bought mine thru a seller on abebooks.com, a few years ago!

^ It's such a fun book, although it's a shame that Bob himself did not participate. Oh well. I especially loved reading the comments from "the group" - Jack Riley, John Fiedler, Renee Lippin, Oliver Clark, Noam Pitlik, and Howard Hesseman.

In my book was the shipping invoice - it cost me $1 to buy and $3 to ship.

My library system has several of the books about the old TV shows - GI, ILL to name two - but did not have Joey Green's Hi Bob or Steve Cox's Dreaming of Jeannie. So I bought both of those, sight unseen. I think I have 2 copies of Steve's book and my daughter has one (completely signed except by Barbara). I also have the one on the Partridge Family and the one about the Brady Bunch as written by the young man who played Greg Brady. Those are both excellent books to own.

^ I've read those books, too. You're right, Donna, they are a lot of fun!

Yeah I have that book and it's pretty good. I love books about tv shows though and have bought heaps of them on ebay over the years.

I've never read it, but would like to. I'll see if the library has a copy.

No, I haven't made it to the library yet, been too busy lately. But I wrote the title down & put it in my purse for when I do get a chance to go.

If your library system has an online database (and most do, these days), you might want to let your fingers do the typing before your car has to use GAS. I use our systems' databases all the time to find and request materials, which saves me time and gas going down there just to find out that only (X) branch has the book and I'll have to request it anyway!

Right now I have a bunch of Gilligan-related books requested from the two library systems. Unfortunately NEITHER of the San Diego systems (County and City) have the book Hi, Bob!.

^ That's what I do. I look up the items I'd like to check out, and I reserve them online. Then I get an automated message on my phone when they arrive, and I simply drive to the library to pick them up. I love that.
