My sentiments exactly, plus it takes you away from your problems for a half hour. I like to laugh.

It is my escape from reality. Its better then reality scripted television and not always a cliffhanger making you want to scream if you miss the next episode. They also make me laugh and take my mind of my stresses of work and daily life.

The sitcom, I think, will always be with us. It can be traced back to the
early days of radio--and even before that, for the domestic theme was
popular in the first comic strips (e.g., Blondie, which has been around
since 1930 .. and is still going strong). "Laughter is the best medicine" still
holds true today (probably moreso than ever, considering the state of the
world today). And, unlike an hour-long drama, it only requires a short attention span. The sitcom genre has always been a popular staple in
syndication, to advertisers, too.

Perhaps, author Rick Mitz (in The Great TV Sitcom Book) said it best:
"It's not because they're so good or because they're so funny or because I
see in them something deeper and more meaningful than appears on the surface of the celluloid. No. It's just that watching sitcoms is so much easier.
It's easier than living, than planning, than preparing. In sitcoms, everybody always says the right thing and they say it cleverly. And for twenty-four
minutes--plus commercials--I can be part of that well-timed, evenly paced
world where everything has a happy ending and a theme song. I want a life
with a laugh-track."

Some sitcoms make me laugh. Others are just interesting to me.

sitcoms are my favourite types of tv shows, followed by cartoons- classics from the 60s to the late 90s. the rest i have no absolutely interest in whatsoever such as reality, dramas, quizzes etc.

i love sitcoms- well the american ones that is- because i love humour and they always make me laugh. and depending on which sitcoms i enjoy watching i like them a lot, as i like the characters, the storylines, situations, the humour, funny lines and the plots.

also, what i like about sitcoms is the fact that even when you've had a really terrible day at work or whatever and you come home, you can sit back, relax and switch on the tv, watch sitcom dvds- or in todays age, the internet and watch sitcoms when and as you like. plus watching sitcoms makes you feel good on the inside and make you see the positive and humourous side of life, thanks to the characters themselves

Some sitcoms made me in a super-good mood, and makes me laugh.
