I like to put in one of my tv shows on dvd, such as The Dick Van Dyke Show or Get Smart. Laughing during a certain funny scene helps distract me from my bad day.

i usually don't turn it off - the cats like to watch it when I'm not watching (they don't always like what I watch).

But if I'm depressed for whatever reason, I usually like to watch Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm. The people on those shows always make my life seem better.
