Default Got LITB Season 1 DVD

I happened to watch the episode of Short Pants.. hehe..

Wow, the salesman didn't do a good job of telling Martha that kids don't wear those things much. I do think June should have told Ward that it would be possible that Aunt Martha might take Beaver shopping.

So this is the first time Aunt Martha has seen the boys period? So, Ward has a relaitve they don't talk about either or was June just being sarcastic? That would be kinda werid that June and Ward have one family member they don't talk about.

I find this episode irritating on a few levels. First off, Ward asks June why Martha can't go and help her sister and June just stay home. She replied that Aunt Martha didn't know about babies and things. if this was true then why on Earth would any responsible mother allow someone like that to take care of her family? I did like Ward's come back though. "Come now, someone must have explained a few things to her along the way." It could have been constrewd as her not knowing how babies were made too.LOL!! At least that is how I perceived it in his tone. Gotta love Ward! Then later on Martha seems to be condesending with Ward when she mentions how nice the home is and he must be doing well..."now". Then of course she makes that same old tired remark about the boys looking like a Bronson. Again, the way she says it sounds like an insult or disrespect to Ward. I suppose you all have figured by now that I don't care for Martha. And then she insists on the ridiculous clothing for Beaver!

It's okay, I've heard alot of posters not care for Aunt Martha.. I mean gosh, I liked her in the last episode when Beaver changed his mind about going to Fallbrook and she seemed to have um... uh.. changed a bit. Since she didn't have a problem with Beaver not wanting to go to Fallbrook.

EDIT: And I have made the conclusion that maybe Aunt Martha disapproved of Ward marrying June.... Isn't Wally named after one of Ward's relatives and Beaver named after one of June's relatives? I think that is kinda weird.

It sure seems like she did disapprove of him. Why though? Ward was a hard worker and he took very good care of June. Not to mention he was incredibly HANDSOME!! As for your question, I do believe that Wally was named after one of Ward's uncles and Beaver was named after June's uncle Theodore who is Martha's brother. But, why do you find that strange? People name their kids after relatives all the time.

Well, it doesn't seem like people name their kids after their relatives.. My mom and dad just liked the name they gave me.... LOL

My sisters did give my nephews the middle name of their grandfathers.

But my sister who has a daughter, I think they just liked the name they gave her.
