If you had your own TV network, what would it be like? What would you call it? What kind of programming would it be and why? What would your schedule and primetime line-up include?
For my network, I wouLd call it RG-TV (Real Good TV). It would include a variety of programming from news to family comedies, classic television and a primetime line-up full of variety. I would introduce great family sitcoms like those of the 90's like Roseanne, The Fresh Prince, Blossom, etc. and would also have great dramas like the short-lived studio 60 on the sunset strip! My schedule would be something like this; Quote:

Let me make it easy.
Not like ION. Not like TVLAND. Not like any of those stupid networks that have changed their formats.

mines would be called the classic sitcoms and toons channel. it will have nothing but vintage and quality cartoon shows and sitcoms- my favourite tv genres- from the 50s up until the 2000s. no reality tv garbage, dramas, quiz shows for eg
the shows would range from different strokes, who's the boss?, the jeffersons, the cosby show, fresh prince of bel air, frasier, to name to cartoons such as alvin and the chipmunks, thundercats, hanna barbera, warner bros favourites and disney cartoon series such as duck tales, goof troop, darkwing duck, chip'n'dale etc |

My network will be called the It's My Network And I'll Show What I Want and it will show TV series, cartoons, and documentaries banned from the networks due to political correctness uncut with no commercials plus original programing.

If I had my own television network, it would be named JBC and my schedule will consist of 15-20 animated sitcom and drama shows spread from Sunday through Friday, with movies on Saturday. I won't be showing any "classic" programming on my network, but I will be showing a 2-hour block in the afternoons. Pee-wee's Playhouse would be one of the shows on this block.

can't think of a catch name but it's pretty much like old school USA Network on Steriods (a mix of movies,off-network series, kids and teens programing, sports, and news that isn't fear mongering, sensationalized and biased

mine would be old shows. i may pick up a few originals but not go over board like these crazy "classic TV" networks are doing. A few things I would pick up: The Carol Burnett Show, All in the Family, The Facts if Life along with a few old cartoons and more old sitcoms, variety and game shows.
BTW, my network name would be B-TV (because my name is Brandon) |

It would be called "S-TV" (scripted TV, no reality... ever!). It would have all of the great classics. Sitcoms and dramas... a little sci-fi. A lot shows that Nick @ Nite used to have back in '99-'01.

Over the years, I've come up with several. It's nearly impossible for me to just make a lineup of shows I like, or shows I think ought to be on TV. There's just wayyy too many and not enough time in the day. I like to make lineups based on things like era, genre, production, etc. I'll post some of the Monday-Friday lineups from a couple of the little networks I've created whenever I've had too much time on my hands...
Spelling TV - All Aaron Spelling, all the time. Everything from his classic crime dramas, to his long-running serials, his family dramas, and the star-studded fare...everything! Monday-Friday 6am: "The Love Boat" (last night's episode) 7am: "Charlie's Angels" (last night's episode) 8am: "Dynasty" (last night's episode) 9am: "Melrose Place" (last night's episode) 10am: "The Mod Squad" 11am: "Starsky & Hutch" 12pm: "Hart to Hart" 1pm: "Sunset Beach" 2pm: "Beverly Hills 90210" 3pm: "Family" 4pm: "Fantasy Island" 5pm: "Hotel" 6pm: "The Love Boat" 7pm: "Charlie's Angels" 8pm: "Dynasty" 9pm: "Melrose Place" 10pm: "The Mod Squad" (today's episode) 11pm: "Starsky & Hutch" (today's episode) 12am: "Hart to Hart" (today's episode) 1am: "Sunset Beach" (today's episode) 2am: "Beverly Hills 90210" (today's episode) 3am: "Family" (today's episode) 60s Sitcoms - Just what the name says...all of the beloved, long-running classic sitcoms that define the 1960s. Weekends would include rotating blocks of many short-lived series (when one show ends its run, another begins). Monday-Friday 6am: "Gilligan's Island" (repeat) 6:30: "I Dream of Jeannie" (repeat) 7am: "Bewitched" (repeat) 7:30: "The Beverly Hillbillies" (repeat) 8am: "The Munsters" 8:30: "The Addams Family" 9am: "McHale's Navy" 9:30: "Hogan's Heroes" 10am: "Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C." 10:30: "The Flying Nun" 11am: "That Girl" 11:30: "Julia" 12pm: "Hazel" 12:30: "The Patty Duke Show" 1pm: "The Farmer's Daughter" 1:30: "Family Affair" 2pm: "My Three Sons" 2:30: "My Three Sons" 3pm: "The Donna Reed Show" 3:30: "The Donna Reed Show" 4pm: "Petticoat Junction" 4:30: "Petticoat Junction" 5pm: "Green Acres" 5:30: "Green Acres" 6pm: "The Beverly Hillbillies" 6:30: "The Beverly Hillbillies" 7pm: "The Dick Van Dyke Show" 7:30: "The Lucy Show" 8pm: "Gilligan's Island" 8:30: "I Dream of Jeannie" 9pm: "Bewitched" 9:30: "Bewitched" 10pm: "The Andy Griffith Show" 10:30: "The Andy Griffith Show" 11pm: "The Munsters" (repeat) 11:30: "The Addams Family" (repeat) 12am: "McHale's Navy" (repeat) 12:30: "Hogan's Heroes" (repeat) 1am: "Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C." (repeat) 1:30: "The Flying Nun" (repeat) 2am: "That Girl" (repeat) 2:30: "Julia" (repeat) 3am: "Hazel" (repeat) 3:30: "The Patty Duke Show" (repeat) 4am: "The Farmer's Daughter" (repeat) 4:30: "Family Affair" (repeat) 5am: "The Dick Van Dyke Show" (repeat) 5:30: "The Lucy Show" (repeat) 4am: "Fantasy Island" (today's episode) 5am: "Hotel" (today's episode) ABC SOAPnet - A permanent home for the over 40 years of daytime drama that's been broadcast through ABC. It would include same-day repeats of the current soaps, as well as regularly airing classic episodes of them. Cancelled soaps would dominate the daytime lineup. Monday-Friday 6am: "Dark Shadows" (yesterday's 3pm episode) 6:30: "Dark Shadows" (yesterday's 3:30 episode) 7am: "All My Children" (yesterday's ABC episode) 8am: "One Life to Live" (yesterday's ABC episode) 9am: "General Hospital" (yesterday's ABC episode) 10am: "Port Charles" 10:30: "Port Charles" 11am: "Ryan's Hope" 11:30: "Ryan's Hope" 12pm: "Loving" 12:30: "Loving" 1pm: "The City" 1:30: "The City" 2pm: "The Edge of Night" (beginning circa 1979) 2:30: "The Edge of Night" (beginning circa 1979) 3pm: "Dark Shadows" 3:30: "Dark Shadows" 4pm: "All My Children" (classic) 5pm: "One Life to Live" (classic) 6pm: "General Hospital" (classic) 7pm: "All My Children" (today's ABC episode) 8pm: "One Life to Live" (today's ABC episode) 9pm: "General Hospital" (today's ABC episode) 10pm: "All My Children" (classic - repeat) 11pm: "One Life to Live" (classic - repeat) 12am: "General Hospital" (classic - repeat) 1am: "Port Charles" (today's 10am episode) 1:30: "Port Charles" (today's 10:30 episode) 2am: "Ryan's Hope" (today's 11am episode) 2:30: "Ryan's Hope" (today's 11:30 episode) 3am: "Loving" (today's 12pm episode) 3:30: "Loving" (today's 12:30 episode) 4am: "The City" (today's 1pm episode) 4:30: "The City" (today's 1:30 episode) 5am: "The Edge of Night" (today's 2pm episode) 5:30: "The Edge of Night" (today's 2:30 episode) ^^^^^^^The thing with this one is that ABC has the rights to air all of that except for "Dark Shadows" and "The Edge of Night," so they could very much make this happen, but nope. It'd never see the light of day, and I don't understand why. |
