Superhero from late 60's/early 70's - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone remember a half hour show with a "nerdy" superhero who would take a magic pill to transform himself into the hero. I thought Captain was in the title?

the show was called mr teriffic but there was also a simallr show that aired around the same time called captian nice

and I read that "MR. TERRIFIC" will NEVER,NEVER,NEVER,NEVER be rerun anywhere, ever again. Because of the lead characters implied drug use. Shame, it was a great show. I remember watching it all the time when I was growing up. TV LAND (when they were a great channel, showed 2 episodes of it; a few years ago. (I wonder how they got permission?)

Actually, I believe that Mr. Terrific still has something of a cult following in Germany. It's been syndicated a few times over there; the last time that I know of was about five years ago.
