Default Drysdale Mansion

Does anyone know anything at all about the Drysdale mansion? History, location, etc... I was able to find one or two photos of it online (see below) but no info at all on it.

Default Drysdale Mansion still standing

The house used in exterior shots as the Drysdale Mansion still stands. It is located at 333 Copa de Oro Road, just down from Bel Air Road, in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. The house pictured above is NOT the Drysdale Mansion: it is the house next door (address - 319 Copa de Oro).

I was able to locate the mansion by watching the first season episod, "The Great Feud." You can see the cast walk by a street sign saying "Copa de Oro" then they walk onto the estate's ground to confront Mr. Drysdale. I then used the MSN live maps web site to locate the house. Attached is a picture of the house (aerial) seen today from that web site. According to the LA tax assessor's site, the home was built c. 1955-1960 and has about 6,000 square feet of space.

Here are two pics, one of them the same as Wilmadog99 posted I think... If there are any fans out there in LA who might try to get a pic of the house through the gate that would be great!! don't get in trouble though!!

Default JOHN WOOLF designed these houses...

333 Copa del Oro Road was designed by JOHN WOOLF who is the originator of Hollywood Regency Style. The house next door, 319 Copa Del Oro Road was also designed by JOHN WOOLF and was sold to Mrs. Ann Ford Johnson (ex Mrs. Henry Ford 2nd).

You know, i never really paid that much attention but the photo i use for my icon actually shows the Clampetts with the Drysdale mansion in the background. Notice the palm tree, windows and gables on top of the mansion... I think my icon pic must have been taken from the "Great Fued" episodes.

Is the address really Copa Del Oro? It looks like Copa turns into Bellagio Rd. The pic map would be of great help when searching for the mansion, but judging by the pics you still couldn't see a thing from the street.

Those are great current pictures of the "Drysdale Mansion." I'll be heading for Southern California myself in late summer and this address will be a must-see. It's amazing that in this era of tear-down-and-build-a-new-mansion, this house remains essentially untouched from its original condition. Thanks so much for posting.

Default Another Drysdale Mansion?

Check out 910 Oxford Way in Beverly Hills, CA using any of the satellite image mapping services. It appears to be a close twin to the home used as the Drysdale Mansion at 333 Copa de Oro Road in Bel Air. I'm curious if anyone has any information - another John Woolf design? - or can save an image of it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out how to save satellite images from Live Maps or any of the other mapping services (advice would be appreciated). Another address for me to scope out when I travel to Southern California in September.

Here is an interesting tidbit of information I learned from my trip to L.A. last week. It turns out the current resident of the Drysdale mansion is none other than Jennifer Anniston!! I did get a couple of pictures of the mansion from the street (I'll post those later), fortunately I didn't go up to the gate and try and take a pic through the gate irons I definitely would have been arrested!! haha.

Please pardon my confusion, but did the Clampetts live in the Drysdale Mansion? I thought they bought their own mansion. That's really something that Jennifer Aniston is living there now!
