I was wondering how come Tommy Alice Son was not on that many episodes in the later season

I know one thing for sure--Philip's heart was not in the series anymore as evidenced by that horrible "very special episode" about his drinking.

How many episode was Tommy in during the end of the season of Alice

And it didn't help when the episodes still showed Alice treating Tommy like a child, rather than the adult he had become. Those were pretty much Alice treating Tommy like a mommy's boy.

That was a shocker. I forgot about that scene too. It had been so long since I seen ALICE and now ION is taking it off.

Linda Lavin's heart wasn't in it as well. Her role on the show in the final season was relatively small. Many of the episodes she was basically coming in the diner and leaving to go somewhere.
