Has anyone else noticed this - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I watched Gomer for years on TV and not once did I notice this but since I started buying the dvd's and being able to pause rewind etc.
I have taken a close look at some of the scenes and noticed things for instance.

When Gomer or anyone leaves or enter's the duty hut the huts you see out the door is just a painting on the wall!

When the platoon is standing in ranks look at the windows of the huts they look like plywood covered with screens.

Also I have wondered why Gomers green uniform was differant then the rest of the platoon! The pockets are differant the buttons are covered,the Marine emblem is differant.

Also has anyone else wondered why Sgt. Hackers shirt color most of the time did not match his pants color!

I'm a huge GP USMC fan, but i haven't noticed anything you've talked about, but i haven't really looked for it either. I'm planning on watching some episodes later on tonight, so i will look alittle closer.

I used to watch it all the time when it was on TV LAND, and I never noticed any of those things. But, before I did I hadn't seen the show in YEARS.

Maybe back when they filmed it they thought hardly anyone would notice those things, but they never anticipated DVDs!!!

I also noticed the difference in Gomer's uniform. It's cool to be able to pause it & check out things a little closer. You notice more stuff that way.

Never knew abt the uniform, good catch.

As for the background, it was pretty mainstream for shows from that era and before to use painted backgrounds. I Love Lucy did that A LOT!
