Default Favorite Archie Malaprop

Over All in the Family's long run, Archie uttered so many malaprops. Which ones were your favorites? I'll start with three:

"You're taking it out of contest."
"It's just a pigment of your imagination."
"Well goodbye and good ribbons."

Archie sure butchered the English language. There are so many I have to go back and watch the eps again. There's gotta be AT LEAST one in each. How ironic for Carroll to play a character like Archie, considering Mr. O'Connor was once an English teacher!

The other thing that was funny was when the real meaning of a word went right over Archie'ss head. Like when Irene Lorenzo is coming over and telling Edith all abt Catholicism. Archie gets mad and tells Irene to stop coming over and shoving her religion down Edith's face. Irene looks Archie right in the eye and says "Are you accusing me of proselytizing?" Of course Archie, dumbbell that he is, has no clue to the correct meaning of the word, and thinks Irene means hooking, and says red-faced "I never accused you of THAT!!"

I like how he always called Reverand Feltcher, Reverand Fletcher. And then when someone would correct him, Archie would say, "whatever".

How about guns being proven to be a "detergent" to crime?
