Hello friends,
This weekend I continued my usual archiving and found what I consider really special.....several 1984 WPIX/NY, yes they were 11 ALIVE then, airings of the classic Penny Singleton/Arthur Lake "BLONDIE" movie series....I always loved this movie series as a kid and too bad they haven't been released on dvd....(don't be fooled by horrible chopped up versions that were released on $9.99 dvd's, but the movies aren't complete)...anyway the movies I found and taped are from the 1984 nightly 3AM "The Channel 11 Film Festival"....they start right from the "Emergency" credits which ran at 2AM weeknights and go right through the opening of "Abbott and Costello" which ran at 4:30AM weekdays. All commericals are complete including those great record offers and 11 Alive promos for "Alice" which ran then at 6PM weeknights......for New Yorkers or any fan of television it really makes you yearn for the days of real independent TV stations...an era that will never return. |

I would love the 28 Blondie Movies! Any chance you have?
Thanks, Terry |
