I have added 43 screen captures from the season 5 episode, "Pheasant Under Glass." Click here!
Episode Description: In this episode, Max and 99 are attempting to rescue Professor Pheasant from KAOS. He is being kept in a glass cell that cannot be penetrated. They are brainwashing him in hopes of getting information on his secret formula. Max and 99 are unsuccessful when trying to rescue him, so the Chief asks for help from CONTROL's singing agent, Madame La Costa in hopes that she will be able to break the glass with her opera-style voice. In the beginning of the episode, 99 tells Max that she is going to have a baby. While trying to make an important phone call, Max knocks over the phone booth with his car and draws attention to himself, accidentally letting it slip that he is a CONTROL agent. In order to be Madame La Costa's accompianist, Max must come up with a disguise. Dr. Hector Proctor "paints" on a few different disguises, such as Martin Landau and Phyllis Diller which the Chief rejects since they are even more well known than Max is. The doctor finally comes up with an acceptable disguise on the third try. While at the recital, Max finds 99 who is posing as a server (and eating up all of the food instead of serving it). Madame La Costa begins her recital as Max fakes playing the piano using the cartridges in the CONTROL piano that have Madame La Costa's entire song collection on them. The heat from the lamp over the piano causes Max's face to fall off, which blows his cover. He grabs 99 and Madame La Costa and they head downstairs to find that Madame La Costa's voice has not even cracked the glass. As the Chief takes the KAOS agents into custody, Madame La Costa charges for the glass cell and breaks it down. After that, 99 realizes that while the glass was breaking during the song, the "diamond" in her ring breaks into tiny pieces which leads her to ask Max how much he paid for it. He can't recall how much he paid for it, but obviously it was made out of glass instead of a diamond! |

Evidentally it was the last secret meeting they were going to be able to have on the moon. I didn't remember them ever having one there before though, lol.

I loved this bit of dialog from the scene on the moon:
Max: Can we give you a lift back to Earth, Chief? Chief: No, thanks, I'm not going that way. |
