There were some great supporting characters on AITF and one of my favs were the Lorenzos. I loved the role reversal. She was fierce with plumbing and fixing cars and he was the sous chef of Hauser Ave. I also loved the way she subtly ripped into Archie and that her presentation was less charicatured than Mike and Gloria's.
The fact that the show would present a couple like the Lorenzos shows how skillfully AITF thought outside the box, just one more in the myriad of reasons, I LOVE THE SHOW. What did you think of the Lorenzos? And I also really liked Irene Lorenzo's wry sense of humor (& wit). |

I loved the Lorenzo's. Irene became an integral part of the show, and she and Frank had the perfect role-reversal marriage. I loved the way Archie was always wanting her to stay away and seemed almost jealous of Irene and Edith's friendship. Vincent Gardenia was perfect in that role, even though he had already made an appearance as Curtis Rempley, the swinger!

I liked the Lorenzos. I've said it before, I think of all the spinoffs that Norman Lear did with this show, the Lorenzos should have been one of them.

What a great idea. Yes, of course!! I feel stupid this idea never occured to me as it makes total sense. Why N.L. never did this I'll never know. She could have had a home repair/plumbing company and/or Frank a restaurant. It would have been fierce. |

After the Jeffersons let, I think the Lorenzos should have been featured MORE instead of following in the spinoff footstep of the Jeffersons. Thats why after 1975 I can really get into the show anymore because too many characters left the show

I didn't really like the Lorenzos. Irene was just 'okay' in her role as a contrast to what Archie thought a woman should be, but I didn't like Frank at all. He was ridiculously exuberant with his gesturing and singing, and he acted like preparing a gourmet meal gave him an orgasm. To me, he was almost sickening.
