Michelle Trachtenberg responds to "Gossip" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michelle Trachtenberg has snagged a multi-episode arc on "Gossip Girl," the CW's freshman drama about privileged Manhattan high school students.

Trachtenberg will play Georgina Sparks, a character who appears in the novels on which the series is based. Georgina rolls into Manhattan from rehab, shaking up and torturing the life of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

Mischa Barton ("The O.C.") was rumored to have been up for the role.

The arc will air during the May sweeps.

Trachtenberg recently wrapped the New Line comedy "Seventeen Again," in which she stars opposite Zac Efron. She next appears alongside Topher Grace and Anna Faris in Universal/Imagine's ensemble comedy "Kids in America."

I don't watch the show, but I guess Gossip Girl can be kissed goodbye now

Michelle was the worst thing to ever happen to Buffy (and that says a lot considering the show "blessed" us with Marc Blucas' "acting talent"), and it says something when Six Feet Under announced it was only going to have one more year right after her arc.

^ I loved hearing her scream on Buffy, not because I thought she did a good job at it but because I thought it was funny as hell.

What?! i loved her in Buffy! and i think she's a great choice for Gossip Girl!

I've seen pictures of her on the set and she definitely looks the part; she fits in seamlessly! So im getting the impression that she and Serena were at the same rehab facility when Serena went away... I cant wait to see what kinds of things she knows about Serena. I think thats one of the more intriguing aspects of the show; just how big of a wild child Serena used to be and how dan will feel when he finds out!
