I found a 2003 column about Robert Stack. It is at the link above, and I thought I'd share it with you. Although the column mentions Unsolved Mysteries, it mainly discusses his role as Eliot Ness, his acting career in general, and some other interesting trivia.

The column was written by Ron Miller. The title is: Grim, taciturn Robert Stack was a lot more than that.

Speaking of Robert Stack, I would love to see a picture of his son to see if he resembles him. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Interesting article. I never realized he was seen as a "Troy McClure" type long before his role as Eliot Ness. I guess the EN character was both a blessing and a curse for him. His Airplane! role will always be my favorite. It shows a guy with a great sense of humor who doesn't take himself, or Hollywood, too seriously.
