Default Runaway Bride's Ex-Fiancé Gets Married

http://tvwatch.people.com/2008/03/18...al-with-oprah/

John Mason, who was once engaged to Jennifer Wilbanks (a.k.a the "Runaway Bride"), has gotten married – but not to Wilbanks.

Mason, 35, and Shelley Martin, 34, wed in a quiet ceremony in front of their families at his parents' home in Duluth, Ga. on Sat. March 15.

"We were very, very happy for him," says Claude Mason, the groom's father, who officiated at the ceremony. Claude is an attorney who also serves as an associate municipal judge in Suwanee, Ga.

The groom's mother, Vicki, oversaw the wedding's floral arrangements, which included lots of pink roses.

In April 2005, Mason's wedding to Wilbanks was canceled after she disappeared just four days before they were to exchange vows. It was later revealed that she faked her own kidnapping.

Mason is currently the general manager of Mason Primary Care, a family medical facility in Duluth. The bride is in pharmaceutical sales. They couple met through Martin's cousin, who was once a high school classmate of Mason's, Claude told PEOPLE.

I know here in Duluth they recently had a play about how the city dealt with everything when all that happened. I wonder how it went.

One thing is for sure, if this Jennifer chick wants to get married, she's flat out of luck. I'm happy for him, but it sure seems like a short period of time. He and his current spouse must have only dated a little over a year.

Wow! I am amazed he was able to bounce back so quick and find someone else.

If that was me, I would have had a really hard time dealing with anyone with a uterus.

Cold feet doesn't justify leaving your loved ones to feel you have been kidnapped and maybe even murdered. This is more than cold feet, that woman is whacked and obviously has some mental issues if she thinks one can pretend to have been kidnapped. People get cold feet for a lot of reasons, marriage is one of them, but not the only reason. It is a slap in the face of your family to have led them to believe something horrible happened to you. She should have been a woman and an adult and just said, "I can't go through this marriage."

No one here said she doesn't deserve a second chance. That is NOT THE TOPIC HERE, it was abt her former fiancee who found love again and got married, even after what he must have gone through. I can surmise that most of us here feel happy for him and we are glad he was rid of Jennifer.

She was wrong on so many levels. I forget how much, but she cost the city load of dough for the search party. She turned an entire town upside down. Imagine if someone got hurt during the search. I don't hate Jennifer, but she doesn't have my sympathy either.

I remember the threads back then - she drove you crazy - it was hilarious when I look back!

Thats right. To think there could've also been someone out there who actually needed the authorities and they were busy looking for a moron who isn't even really missing. All the time, money, emotions and everything else she wasted needs to all be paid back. At least the money.

That too. I mean, the authorities are not sitting around twittling their thumbs waiting to do something. I can't imagine how they felt knowing the person they were looking for was this moron who was only thinking of herself when they could have used their time and energy to help others who really needed help.

That moron got away with this too lightly.

I wish the Masons the best. Almost anyone would have to be an improvement over Miss Wilbanks (shudder).
