Arrow Wisdom Teeth Extraction Surgery

Hey all!

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be having oral surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) for extraction of all four of my wisdom teeth. I know some of you may have cringed while reading the first sentence, but this shouldn't be so intense as none of my wisdom teeth are impacted. There will be no digging into my roots. I'll be going into surgery tomorrow morning, and I will be resting for a couple of days from work, exercise, socializing and any other extraneous activities.

I'll have to play it by ear by the end of the week to see how next weekend will be, as far as socializing goes. I know that I will be sleeping/getting off the computer for the first 24 hours after surgery. It all depends how I feel, but I don't think my healing time will be too many days, as this isn't going to be a difficult operation.

As some of you may already know, I have never had any type of surgery in my life. Therefore, this is a little intimidating and scary for me. I know people have assured me that everything will be okay and to take it easy, but I am still feeling a little apprehensive.

I shall be back soon!

Whoa....I didn't realize this, but this thread is my 9,000th post!

good luck. i had mine pulled last year, the procedure wasn't bad at all, just make sure you have plenty of painkillers for the next week or so.

I had mine pulled over a month ago. It was a snap, I had no problems. Just remember no sucking on straws and rinse out your mouth with warm salt water for the first day or two. Good luck to you.

Thanks, Sarah and ponytail!

I'm gathering my last-minute things now and doing some house cleaning before I leave in about 45 minutes. I'm still rather nervous about it. I fear the thought of something going wrong or permanent numbness happening.

I have gotten recommendations to use teabags to stop bleeding, but I am scared that there will be intense pain that I cannot control. Ugh.... I over-analyze and worry way too much.

Anyway...I am off! Thanks for your wishes!

And, I will update as soon as I am able to feel better to get to my computer.

Good luck. I had 2 of mine out a few weeks ago (the other two came out last year). So I know what you're going through. I second the recommendation of painkillers. The first time, I took Advil left and right, LOL. Other than that, you should be fine. I never had that much pain, so maybe you won't, either.

I really need to get my wisdom teeth pulled out since they're overcrowding my teeth.

One wisdom tooth grew from its side and since I have no health insurance, I still have the teeth in.

If I ever get into surgery, what will I eat the next few days?

Good luck! I have yet to have mine pulled (I'm actually avoiding it...lol), so I can't give too much advice. But painkillers are the best thing according to my friends who've had theirs pulled. Maybe take some and sleep the rest of the day. Good luck & hope you're not in a lot of pain. =)

Me too, those teeth cause more trouble than anything. I dont even know why we still have them if everyone gets them pulled. I guess they're like the appendix, just there to bug you, not to serve a purpose.

Hope everything goes well. 2 of my wisdom teeth have come in so far and I'm really hoping that I won't have to have them extracted someday. The pain is bad enough when they are coming in, so I'm afraid of what it would be like to take them out

I had milkshakes, jello, etc. Anything soft, really. But after the first day, you can usually eat whatever you feel up to. I was back to a regular diet in 24 hours this time. It took a few days the first time.
