Default Conrad Bain Was the REAL Star of DS!

I think he was so underrated and underappreciated on this show. He really had great comedic timing that I never noticed as a kid watching this show.

I agree. I also saw a couple episodes of Maude from YouTube a while back and remember being pleasantly surprised to see him on that.

I agree with all of you

Arnold: "dad why do I have to be home so early? Things don't get cooking until midnight"

Mr. Drummond: "well that means you will just have to turn off your burner a little early"

LOL-LOL

That is what is great about watching the DS reruns now in this stage of my life--I can get past the nostalgia and watch the nuances. Conrad really did a great job and is fun to watch.

Agreed, now that I am older, I realize that Arnold was cute and funny, but Mr. Drummond really held that show together.

That's pretty interesting because the majority of youngsters that tuned in were intrigued by the Arnold character.

As a youngster of about 11-12, I was VERY intrigued by the Kimberly character.

Touche! I was referring to me as a bit younger than that, but Kimberly was a cutie.

I know I was when I first saw the show in reruns when I was really little. I think he's still funny but it's not the quite the same now after finding out later on how bitter Gary Coleman is. I kinda see things from a different perspective now.

Default Conrad Bain

I think Conrad was the glue that held DS together.

interesting you said that because when i was younger, i did prefer arnold, but as a grown-up adult now, i realised the impact that conrad had and the effort he put in as philip. both arnold and philip are my two favourite characters from diff'rent strokes
