Default Anissa Jones's 50th Birthday

This week, Anissa Jones would have turned 50. Sadly, she has not been with us for most of these last 50 years. It was a short, and ultimately tragic life that ended over 31 years ago, but one that will not be forgotten. She should have still been with us, and for many, many years yet to come. Unfortunately, that was not to be. Such a beautiful young girl and young woman, gone way too soon.

I didn't know that about her brother. That's very sad. I had assumed he was still around.

It was sad when she passed away, but if ya mess with drugs you're asking for trouble. Anytime something like this happens to a young person I always ask- Where are the parents? Don't they know or give a damn that their child is in trouble? Shame on these parents who don't intervene and allow their children to spiral out of control.

I see a lot of these child star bio and it amazes me that so many come from broken homes. Parents divorced, parents in tough jobs, etc. and they put their child in front of the camera. Show business does pay well for a price.
A price many would not want to pay. The child later ends up LOST. I am sure Paul Peterson who wrote a book can tell stories.

Interestingly, it's not only child stars that so often come from broken homes, but ANY celebrity, whether in entertainment or politics. Broken homes seem to be a common trait. It makes me think they're desperately seeking fame to gain some love or validation they never got at home growing up.

If you thought Anissa Jones is up in Heaven. I don't believe that. Anissa Jones had no funeral and no grave marker because she said that she did not want her grave to become a tourist attraction. So her body was cremated and her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean.

And how do you know who is and who isn't in Heaven? You can't leave the dead to rest in peace can you?

I realize this was asked several months ago, but from what I understand, Anissa's parents were out of the picture early. They tried to take advantage of their daughter's earnings, and she wanted to get away from them as soon as possible.

Well, here's the wiki entry:

"...Jones' parents had gone through a bitter divorce in 1965 and continued to feud over custody of the children for some time afterward. In 1973 custody of Jones and her year-younger brother Paul was awarded to their father, who died shortly thereafter of heart disease. When her brother moved back in with her mother Anissa moved in with a friend and began skipping school. Anissa's mother reported her as a runaway and she was sent to juvenile hall for several months. After her release and return home Anissa began shoplifting and taking drugs. She flunked out of high school and briefly worked at a doughnut shop in 1975.

When she turned 18 Jones gained control of approximately USD$180,000 in the form of a trust fund and U.S. Savings Bonds that had been created with part of her earnings from Family Affair. Jones and her brother Paul then rented an apartment together. She started dating Allan Kovan, who was also involved with drugs... "

Anissa died on August 28, 1976 at the age of 18.

So it's obvious that her parents had their own problems that they couldn't handle. They were lousy parents, no question about it.

You don't need a body to go to heaven as far as I know. No one knows Anissa's heart and what she believed. She has just as much chance to be in heaven as the rest of us.

You are correct about not needing a body. It's pretty obvious that when a person dies, their body is left here on earth.

Saying that Jones couldn't possibly have gone to Heaven simply because her body was cremated is like saying that someone who dies in a fire has no chance of going to Heaven.

And what happens at a person's funeral certainly doesn't have anything to do with their eternal destination, whatever it might be.

I was taught that a person has to be buried to go to heaven. If a person is cremated and his ashes have been scattered, then there's always the center of the earth (unless somebody keeps his ashes in an urn). That lesson was balls.
