I was pretty impressed with Gilligan's putting--it was amazing! And in the dark, too!
Why is Maryann wearing all those leis in this episode? Very rarely, we see her don some kind of island accessory like that. Can anyone please tell me what the (heck) Gilligan is doing with that vase or container before Thirston walks in and surprises him? Is that some kind of game possibly, like "mumbleypeg," which he mentions in Episode 31? Or is it something else he is doing? What is he doing? I can't tell but all I know is that he acts as if he is "caught" when Thirston enters. Why does Gilligan change his mind about getting Maryann the "whole state of Kansas"--that sounded like a pretty nice gift. It was kind of mean of Lovey and quite unlike her usual character to be congratulatory of Thirston in his fleecing Gilligan of the money. I always saw Thirston as mean in this one but do you think that maybe all he wanted to do was break even with Gilligan--that he wouldn't have taken any actual money from Gilligan if Gilligan had actually lost money to him aside from the breaking even money? PLEASE ADD YOUR COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS ON EPISODE 13 AND ANSWER SOME OF MINE IF YOU CAN!!!! |

Personally, I think this episode is rather comical and I enjoy the irony. This is one episode where the underlining message shines through! This episode also provides a possible answer for, 'where did they get all those clothes?' Ginger tells Gilligan that she made her dress out of his dufflebag (for some reason, I always thought it was a sail from the ship). Anyway, perhaps the others found material in a nearby cave, constructed a crude sewing machine... and waalaa!
