Default Sean "Diddy" Combs is launching a high-end car service for drunk celebrities

Had one too many blood-orange martinis? About to topple over in your 4-inch Jimmy Choos? Abandoned by all your hard-partying, fabulous friends?

Don't drive home drunk -- dial Diddy. Music and fashion mogul Sean Combs plans to launch a car service for celebrities too tipsy to drive after a night out.

"After partnering with Ciroc vodka, he wants to make sure everyone's partying responsibly," his representative said in a statement to ABCNEWS.com.

His goal?

"Making sure nobody gets arrested!," he told Us Magazine.

He's got his work cut out for him. For Hollywood starlets, driving drunk seems to have become as natural a habit as posing for paparazzi and hitting the gym. In 2007, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton were all arrested for DUI-related offenses.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking as I read this story.

Besides, those celebs have drivers and limos at their disposal. They are just too stupid to not use them.

Mhm! And if they had true friends, some of them would offer to drive them home.

I may be in the minority, but I think this is a decent idea. I mean, with all the recent DUI arrests of celebs, it couldn't hurt to have a backup plan for getting home sloshed.

Any idea is a good idea to get rid of DUI drivers, however, Diddy making a high-end driver service is pitiful when you consider that celebs have the means to pick up a phone and call their own drivers, call a limo, etc. Paris has drivers and limos at her disposal and did not use them when she was caught. Too many celebs get drunk or high while they are out in their own vehicles and just don't want to bother with calling anyone. How will Diddy's service be any different?

I understand what you are saying, but let's be honest, when people are drunk, they often lose their sense of reason. With something like Diddy's car service in place, it can possibly save a life or two.

But can they make that call to Diddy's service? If they can make that call to Diddy's service, I am sure they can call their own drivers. I imagine it would be good for some celebs who aren't that $$$$$ and don't have a driver at their disposal, but it seems his service is directed at those with lots of money, and to me, those with lots of money tend to have a driver available. If they are too drunk to drive, they may not be able to make a phone call.

Just my opinion.

I hope his service helps someone.

of course p diddy is trying to cash in on this.
i agree it's a good idea, but i'm with irene on this one. they're celebrities. they've got drivers and limos that they can have wait outside for them or they can call them.
but often times, people who are drunk think they're completely fine and that they can drive. i've had friends who have sworn that they have a high tolerance for alcohol & are sober enough to drive home, but they're completely wasted & don't realize it. or they don't want to ask for help/a ride home.
but hopefully this helps someone out. it just seems like p diddy is trying to make some more cha-ching.

I don't mind if Diddy cashes in on this, as long as helps even one person out. There's a lot worse ways to make a buck nowadays.

I also notice in the article "Circo Vodka" is mentioned. That is a brand of Vodka that he is a part of:

To Diddy, it’s all about the vodka… and, of course, the Benjamins. The hip-hop mogul has signed a multi-year, potentially $100 million dollar deal to develop the Ciroc vodka brand, one of Diageo PLC’s superpremium lines, for a whopping 50-50 share in the profits!
______________

According to the article, "after drinking Circo Vodka, he wants to make sure people party responsibly..." Sounds like the guy is promoting his vodka at the same time. His music videos almost always seem to promote drinking. Why doesn't he promote partying without alcohol? Why doesn't he make a video that doesn't show drinking? Sorry, just had to vent.

I just hope his service helps someone. DUI is not a laughing matter and the fact he backs a vodka drink while promoting safe partying makes it seem like he is all abt the Benjamins.
