Anyone remember the early episode where Buffalo Bob Smith brought Howdy Doody to Milwaukee and Richie exposed Clarabell the Clown without his makeup? I remember when Buffalo Bob referred to Richie as "Little Richie Cunningham", even though he was a teenager.

Ah, yes. I sure do. In fact, that is my favorite episode. But I might be bias,
since I am still a huge fan of Howdy Doody. By the way, although Lew Anderson (the third and final Clarabell on the original show and on The New Howdy Doody Show) still appeared with Buffalo Bob Smith on college campuses and at shopping malls, for some reason he wasn't available to play Clarabell on Happy Days. So, Bob Brunner (the writer of this episode) played Clarabell (and did a pretty good job, too). |

That was a great ep......my fave part is how Richie is upset that in the end, he didnt win the Howdy lookalike contest cause he didnt do the "moves" of a puppet, as the little kid who won, did.

Yeah, I get a kick out of that scene as Richie imitates the puppet moves and how ticked off he was at losing the contest.
