The Very Best of One Step Beyond, I found it at Walmart for $5 & bought it even though I don't remember ever watching it before. It's pretty good for an old show.

I bought The Stockard Channing Show and I actually really like it. It has that late 70s/early 80s feel to it.

I also bought Cagney & Lacey having only caught a few episodes growing up and I LOVE IT!!!

Hey Tubehead, did you mean Gimme a Break! If so, what do you think of it? I grew up watching it and I love the series.

I've done this a few times and it's worked out well.

30 Rock: After it won the Emmy for best comedy I picked up the DVD to see what I was missing. Great show!

Color Honeymooners: I had never seen it before the DVD came out. I had read about it and was curious to see it., Obviously the classic 39 are better.

Mary Hartman Mary Hartman: I had heard about and how contraversial it was so I picked up volume 1. I must say this is one of the strangest and quirkest sitcoms out there and I enjoyed the episodes.

I've only ever blind-bought one series and that was the Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries. I love late 70s television and the cast was great, so I knew it wouldn't let me down. I've since bought the second season too.

I bought La Femme Nikita - it was on sale at Best Buy for $19 and it retails there usually for $80 or so. I got season 1 and watched it through the whole season because I liked it so much and went back and got seasons 2-5 before the sale ended. Haven't finished watching all the seasons yet but still enjoy it.

I just bought season 1 of the hilarious Two and a half Men...
I had seen about a handful of episodes in syndication and have been watching season 5 on CBS and have fallen in love with the show!

BTW, for anyone of you considering buying the dvd sets, do so! The show has never looked better. It's presented in 16:9 letterbox!

Benson - I loved Soap for years, but I never bothered to watch Benson until it came out on DVD. I figured it was a Sony show, and might not get another release, so to support it, I bought the first season. It's not the funniest show, but for some reason, it grabbed me.

One Day at a Time - same reason as above.

227 - I bought the first season, loved it, and started watching it on TV One.

For Maude and Mary Tyler Moore, I hadn't watched Maude since it was in syndication for a little while in the late 70's, but I bought it anyways and really enjoyed it. I hadn't watched Mary Tyler Moore in years either, but bought it mainly for the nostalgic factor, and it turned out to be one of my favorite shows once again.
