Default Question for you Solomon and the other traders on this board...

Obviously all of you have been recording stuff off of tv for sometime now. Solomon, you stated you have been recording ever since you had a VCR. My question is, this was waaaay before the internet came along, so what reason was there to record movies, specials, tv shows, sports, etc. other than for your own pleasure of owning it? Also, did you do any sort of trading or selling BEFORE the internet came along?

Around the age of 15 I started thinking, "if I record all the eps of tv shows I like I will have something to watch when there is nothing on" So I just started taping all my favorite shows for emergency situations. I didn't do any trading until the internet. All the stuff i recorded would just be for me to have in my personal collection

BTW: TJ gave me my start in tv trading by offering me the ABC broadcast of the Mork and Mindy Pilot aired in 1978. It was that show that led to my collection you see today. before TJ gave me that show, I HAD NOTHING-lol

I was trading tapes as early as 1984 but my main focus was pro wrestling, I had tapes going back to the 70's and traded those for shows from various promotions across the U.S., Canada, Japan etc...

Interesting. It dawned on me the other day abt how you all go abt trading on the boards and I thought to myself how most of you have been recording since VCR became mainstream and I wondered what got you all started.
