Why Facts of Life might be annoying:

Its theme music makes those who listen wish Alan Thicke a slow and painful death.

It was the hell spawn of 'Diff'rent Strokes' (1979)

The ratings dropped when the adolescent actresses were finished with puberty.

To increase ratings to puberty levels, the writers engineered a storyline that would make Blair the first of the girls to lose her virginity.

The storyline was then given to Mindy Cohn (AKA the ugly one) and the ratings stunt failed.

They stretched the suspension of disbelief to the limit by claiming all of the young females on the show were still virgins in their 20s.

It has made-for-TV movies with idiotic titles like 'The Facts of Life Down Under (1982)' and 'The Facts of Life Goes to Paris (1987).

They thought they could get away with exploring 'serious' issues like rape.

The final episode was a set-up for a spin-off that never materialized.

It consistently ranked in the Top 30 rated programs for most of its initial run.

They somehow convinced Cloris Leachman to replace Charlotte Rae.

They gave Mindy Cohn her role after the producers visited her girls school and decided to base a character off of her.

It is the longest running show with an all female lead cast.
