Default Jenny or Valerie?

Which was a better Sabrina friend of the early years: Jenny (from season 1) or Valerie (from seasons 2 and 3)?

Valerie. I felt so sorry for her, as it seems like her mother thought her inadequate - or something. I wish Sabrina had done something to console her friend, at the end of that episode.

I never understood the sense of Jenny telling Sabrina that she was lucky to have strict aunts, because Jenny couldn't rebel against her laid-back parents. Why would you want to rebel, just for the sake of rebelling? I mean, I understand the feeling of wanting to do things your parents won't let you do - like, for example, eating forbidden foods. That's only natural. To rebel just for the heck of it, though - I don't understand.

She was very nice, but she was often insecure. I think she chased too many guys away, with that.

Yeah I thought Val was really cool but she was really insecure and felt like she felt she wasn't even good enough to hang out with Sabrina and Harvey. Or like how she would hang onto all of Libby's words.

That's modern teens for you. Wanting to rebel just to say they did.

Yes, although I think her name was different in the movie.

Anyway I like Valerie better.
