I notice this show is big amongst people who never got into Joss Whedon shows like Buffy/Angel mainly because of the network they were on. But I haven't met many fans of Angel who love this show as well. Any Moonlight fans here who were/are Angel fans as well? The whole "reformed vampire" thing was done on that show better IMO.

Yes, I watched Joss Whedon's Angel, as well as its predecessor Buffy
the Vampire Slayer. But I see more parallels between this show and Ron Koslow's Beauty and the Beast. (Koslow is one of the producers of Moonlight.) Both of those shows deal with a human woman who obviously has strong feelings for a man-monster. |

I was a Buffy and Angel fan and I LOVE Moonlight. It's not the same as those shows regardless of what you've read.
I never watched BATB, but my mom loved that show back in the day. Buffy and Angel dealt with monsters, demons and vampires, while Moonlight deals with only humans and vampires. Moonlight has film noir aspects with Mick's voiceovers, shadows, lighting, etc. Mick is a pretty young vampire (turned in the 50's) so that's a very different point of view on being turned as opposed to being hundreds of years old. I would suggest everyone just watch the show and judge for yourself how similar or different it is from Angel/Forever Knight/Interview with a Vampire/Lost Boys/Buffy/Nosferatu....etc.
