Default TVLand?

As some of you know, I've been boycotting TVLand because they're stupid. A few days ago, I got to thinking how much I missed AITF and I was thinking about how that could be the only thing I watch on TVLand. I got to looking at the scedual and it wasn't on at it regular time. Since I have DirecTV, I have the opportunity to type in any show and it tells when it comes on. It didn't show anything for AITF. Has TVLand cancelled it?
Thanks in advance.

I would like to boycott TVLand for another reason. I would like to see the station be entirely "old classic." Bring back more of the black and white shows. Not just Andy Griffith and I love lucy. How about Father Knows Best, the Honeymooners, Little Rascals, 3 Stooges, TwilightZone...etc.........the old black and white stuff. I'ts odd to jump from Andy Griffith to the Jeffersons or Mash. I think there should be another station for shows like that. I don't consider jeffersons, Good times, Benson, All in the Family, Sanford classic tv. I use to watch those all the time when I was younger and I do like them but why can't there be a channel dedicated to REAL classic tv? It would be cool to have an 70's channel, 80's channel and 90's channel.

That's why I'm boycotting it. They're picking all these news shows every other station has and ignoring the classics. I was born late 1987. I didn't get to see shows like Little Rascals, Father Knows Best, ect. The shows they are picking for the lineup are from my generation and I would like to see something 'new' (so to speak) back when TV was good and storylines weren't done over and over.

I haven't got to see many of them either. I was born in 1974 and when I was young I remember seeing the reruns on tv but I barely remember them. I like to see dick van dyke, honeymooners, andy, leave it to beaver, i dream of jeannie, Alfred hitchcock, little rascals, bewitched, twilight zone.............I could go on and on. Maybe TVLand should come out with another channel for the super oldies. I would be interesting to see which channel got the highest ratings. I would even like to see the old commercials!

On a complete different note, you said in your initial post that you had DirectTV. Do you get the Chiller TV (channel)? If so, is it good? I have Verizon Fios and we don't have that one yet but I would love to see it come to Fios.

We do get the Chiller channel and I love it. It shows shows like 'Tales From The Crypt', 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents...', 'The Alfred Hitchcock Hour' 'Twin Peaks' and movies like 'The Birds', the 'Tales From The Crypt' movies, you name it. More recently they picked up the 'Millennium' TV series.
All though I don't watch it all the time, it's still a good channel.

I won't watch TV Land, they are a big joke! As it was said before, classic TV is black and white stuff. The shows in the 70's and above would be perfect for Nick at Nite like I think was supposed to be at the begining. TV Land blew it! They could have been a top notch network by bringing the classics back. Oh well, their loss, I'll just by the DVD's that I want and to hell with them!

a tvland rep on their website stated that the network wouldn't be able to stay afloat if it was JUST a classic tv network which is why they expanded into other type of programming like movies and original programming

Didn't they recently add "Just Shoot Me" to the lineup?? You call that classic TV?? I think not.

I was born in 1974 also, and shows like Cheers and MASH and Night Court are not "classic" IMHO. I watched these shows when I was a kid! I wish they'd show REAL classics like the Honeymooners, Make Room for Daddy, Bewitched....etc.

And I also find their original shows annoying anyway!! Like their Top 10 shows. I really don't care to hear what some nerd from Rolling Stone thinks about the Mary Tyler Moore show, just show the classics already, jeez!

Overal, i think they do a pretty good job. I think the 50's, 60's and 70's are the real classic shows, it doesn't have to be all Black and White. "Just shoot me" shouldn't be on TV Land.

I agree with that! I've had this same discussion with my husband as to what makes "classic" TV. His argument is that shows like 'Seinfeld' and 'Frasier' will become classics because they were so popular during their run, and they will keep thier appeal. They're "Classics in the making" so to speak. But crap like 'Just Shoot Me' wasn't that great while it was original run series. So why it's on TV Land is beyond me. I still think any shows from the 80's or 90's are still too new to be considered classics. But they could be on Nick at Night with Roseanne Barr and Home Improvement.
