Cool Thinking of fellow member YOOCH...aka Gene

I know the last time Yooch aka Gene (I call him Gene Gene the dancing machine) was on the boards was on New Years Eve. He has had family concerns, including his wife being very sick and having surgery last year.

I was thinking abt him and just wanted to make a thread and hopefully when he comes around he can see how much he is appreciated and missed.

Gene, I hope all is well with you and your family, especially your wife. You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. I hope we see you soon, even if you just drop by for a moment. Take care!

I've been thinking of him as well. Very nice, intelligent man, a true gentleman. I hope everything's okay. It's not like him to just suddenly stop posting, for no reason.

I seem to recall him making a thread just before he left saying how he had a lot of things going on with his family and needed some time to be there for them; or words in that ilk

That could be. I'll have to look at his last page of posts. Too tired now, lol.

I PMed Gene just after Christmas. He told me then that his wife was recovering and that she was in rehab. (She had brain surgery) They were hoping that she would be fully recovered by Summer. I am sure that he is very busy taking care of her.

Gene; if you read this please forgive me for any misinformation. I just wish you and your wife the very best!

^^^He did tell us that in one of his last posts here. I have never forgotten that his wife was ill and how he would spend time taking care of her. What a wonderful man. God Bless him.

Thank you guys for all the kind words, and friendship. As you know, life's been overwhelming since the beginning of November, but I'm (we're) slowly, but surely 'getting out of the woods' regarding my wife's illness and gradually returning to normal. I haven't read all the posts yet, but you guys are so kind and I haven't forgotten you.

My wife is still doing physical therapy (on an outpatient basis)--motor function is still not 100% in the right foot, but I'd say about 85 to 90%. She can drive now, and is back to work, full-time! I think fatigue is the biggest thing she has to be careful about. No more walker, no more cane--and this week her hair grew back sufficiently as not to need a hat anymore. Overall, she's done remarkably well; we've much to be thankful for. Her overall prognosis is excellent. Thank you all, SO members, for your ongoing concern for me and her.

As you may remember, we moved last summer. I still have the same job, but now I commute an hour each way. Plus, I'm coaching track and when I get home, I'm usually pretty tired to go online. But I will logon to SO when I can. Forgive me for not letting you guys know how things were going. I know you understand. And I've kept you in my thoughts as well. I will post when I can. I'm on Easter break this week, so I'll have a little free time.
