This is driving me crazy. I can't remember the name of this sitcom.
What I remember: •From the 80s (maybe early 90s but I don't think so) •Main characters: Older sister, teenage brother, younger sister •Took place at the beach (cheesy fake beach set) •I believe the premise was the parents died, and the older sister had to return home to take care of her two siblings. •I think the boy's name was George (maybe this was his real name?) •They ran a boardwalk eatery called Casa De Corndog (or maybe they just hung out there). Although I'm not 100% certain I believe this was a TBS show (maybe syndicated). I remember it being on in the afternoon when I came home from school (I think). Thanks for any insight. |

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think I vaguely remember "California Dreams" (Kelly Packard was in it I believe). I'm pretty sure that wasn't it. The show I'm thinking about was on the air quite a few years before "California Dreams". But both shows did have similar beach sets if I recall.
One more clue I remembered: • The kid who played the brother had a brillo-pad hair do. The kind of curly locks Mike and Greg Brady could appreciate. |

Hallelujah! Mystery solved. After countless web searches, I stumbled upon a list of all the original shows TBS ever produced. Among the list was a title that seemed kind of familiar. I researched the title at IMDB, and....bingo! That was it.
The name of the show was ROCKY ROAD and it apparently aired between 1985 and 1987. And the family owned an ice cream parlor (hence the name Rocky Road) and not a corndog place (Casa de Corndog must've have been just a place they hung out at). Whew. Now I can relax a bit. Not knowing was driving me batty. |
