Used to love it, but it has been steadily declining since 2005 and now sucks. They've dumbed down the weather to the lowest common denominator and the constant "specials" - including the nonstop hyping of global warming have ruined it. (this is not about whether or not global warming is real, but the fact that forcefeeding it down the throat of your viewers is annoying). It's truly not the channel it was. I used to actually watch it for hours each day in lieu of other TV programs (yeah, I'm weird like that), now I only tune in for the local on the 8's, and even that is becoming less and less relavent due to the internet.

what is it about the weatherchannel that keeps you glued to the tube? I don't need to watch it anymore because one of my local stations have created a cable channel called Action News Now which is a 24 hour local weather channel.

We have a channel like that too on over-the-air HD. But you can't get it without an HDTV.

What is it about some kids who are drawn to the weather channel. I used to watch it everyday when I was younger. I don't know why. I can't explain it.

lol...I don't know. Living in the Midwest, something was always happening. Excitement I guess.

I grew up wanting to be a meteorologist. Then I got to college and flunked calculus.

that's funny, I lived in Indiana and watched it all the time when I had it, wanted to be a meterologist too, but eventually somehow the interest in that just dropped.
