Default Cowell: 'The Oscars reek of snobbery'

By WENN world entertainment news - Monday, February 25 11:45 am

Acid-tongued TV judge Simon Cowell has slammed Sunday night's Academy Awards - because the Oscars "reek of snobbery".

The American Idol star believes the ceremony - which exclusively rewards work on movies - looks down on TV series and television stars; and Cowell even claims he's viewed as "evil" in Hollywood circles.

He says, "They think I'm the antichrist. They don't like us TV people to be part of it - it's ridiculous. It reeks of snobbery."

And Cowell insists he wouldn't want to attend the star-studded event because he hates Tinseltown.

He adds, "I have nothing to do with the Oscars - and nor do I want to. I'll only go if someone has invited me.

"I hate the whole movie industry. It's so stuck up I can't bear it."

oh come on, like Simon isn't a snob? Wasn't he the loser who bashed Bruce Springsteen on 60 Minutes because "I sell more records than he does"? Idiot

Right on Simon!

How dare the Oscars celebrate only movies!

Oh, come off your high horse, Simon. You make the British feel embarass by your snobbery. Forget Trump, Simon's the worst offender. I am expecting switchblade knives and pitchfork at your million dollar mansion when one day the Brits would overturn your stereotypical ass to the high authorities. He may be right on the Oscars, but he still full of ****.

I agree. I never really had any respect for him, but whatever I had was lost when he publicly bashed Springsteen because he doesn't sell records like he used to. Bruce has more talent in one finger than 99% of the people on American Idol have in their entire families

"snobbery"? wow, isn't THIS the pot calling the kettle black?

And if that's true, he should explain why Jon Stewart got to host last night, and Ellen hosted the Oscars last year; both are famous for TV and those are only two examples out of many people that have careers solely in TV or have done mostly TV series that have appeared on the show throught the years from time to time.

he probably doesn't know that for the fact, maybe because he hasn't heard of or seen them before. if he hasn't, then what simon said about the oscars reeks of crap
