Maude and Walter could have both used Anger Management classes. They smashed more dishes, windows, records, etc than any other couple on TV that I can think of. It's funny but it's also expensive.

It wasn't just that one episode that Walter and Maude broke dishes? If not it should have been

Not to mention wasn't there one episode Walter hit Maude and she got a black eye or is that my imagination?? It's been so long since I've watched this show so I wouldn't really remember.

Ah yes, the noisy, glass-shattering arguments. I happen to like them.

Yes, in the first ep of season 2, Walter suddenly had a serious drinking problem...at least, it suddenly became a problem, then. He hit Maude. This particular ep always affects me deeply. It is a favorite, but not one I can easily watch over and over. I like the more serious ones, I think they balance out the silliness of others very well, and makes the characters come alive in imagination better than they would otherwise.
