Default So What Did Everyone Think of Last Night's Price Million Dollar Spectacular

I have to say I enjoyed last nights show very much. I can officialy now say that I like Drew Carey as the host of the price is right. It took me a long time but I am finally coming to the realization that Bob is not coming back & its drews baby now. Drew has grown into the role very well & he has totally made the show his own.

I loved the set, i loved the camera shots, it was a very well done show. I like the fact that they have implemented other ways to take home the million dollars & it was nice to see someone finally take it home after many many unsuccessful tries.

I know he was up against the clock, but the only criticisim i had of Drew last night is when the guy won the million dollars Drew just kind of ended it like any other show with not enough fanfare in my opinion. Thats the only negative thing I can say.

We have 5 more primetime shows to look foward to in the next 2 months & each show has a different game as the million dollar game. Will we have another million dollar winner? HMMMMMMMMMMM we shall see

Mike, I am shocked!!!

1. How the heck did you get to watch it last night considering the marathon shifts we pulled last night???

2. You, a Die HardTPIR and Bob Barker fan likes Drew Carey!!!

Mike is fair-minded and open-minded. He gave Drew a chance and seen what we had noticed all along. Drew is doing a great job!

BTW, here is what Brian posted on the other thread:

At 8 p.m., CBS started the night with the highest-rated show of the night, a primetime edition of "Price Is Right," 5.9/10, easily beating NBC's game show "1 vs. 100," 4.7/8. A repeat of "Bones" performed solidly for FOX, 4.6/8, while The CW gave over its evening to "Friday Night Smackdown." ABC languished in last place with a "Grey's Anatomy" repeat.

I am curious to hear other fair minded TPIR fans opinions on the show as well.

I knew the dude was taking home the million last night so I had extra interest in seeing how Drew would handle it. Like I said above, I know he was running out of time, I just didn't think enough was made of the shows very first million dollar winner.

Drew has been growing on me for weeks, but last night he really prooved himself to me. Is he Bob? No he is not, but thats the whole point Drew is Drew & he is making the show his own.

I can't wait till my trip next month to the show, I want to see for myself what is happening @ studio 33

You could count this as one of the historic moments of The Price is Right History! this is the best job Drew Carey has done. he made the show like his own last night. it felt like he was doing the show for years. i always criticized Director Bart Eskander and his crew poor camera shots. but Bart and Camera Crew did an excellent job with camera shots in HD last night. The set felt like primetime. we gave away $1 Million. i'm glad he won it he deserve it. i was telling my friends don't give up on The Price is Right just yet. i think this gotta be a record for Drew Carey he gave away $1 Million on both Power of 10 and The Price is Right.

Default Worth repeating...

Drew looked fantastic in his tuxedo. That guy who won the money, doing the cartwheels, was a riot! This was my husband's first time seeing Drew as host of TPIR. Before the show, I told him that there were varying opinions, and to please pay close attention to Drew, as host. After the show, my husband told me that they couldn't have found a better man for the job. He said that Drew is personable, funny, energetic, and genuinely cares about the contestants, and was helping them along, one woman in particular. He said it's just the old, 'People resist change' thing going on. He was very impressed.

I noticed that Drew puts his hands on the contestants often, their shoulders actually. It's nice, and speaks to his warmth as a person. I like how Drew smiles ear to ear, when someone wins or gets real excited. That's what he was doing when that woman with the eight grandkids was so excited. By the way, she looked too young to have that many grandkids. It was a fun show. When is it on again, at night. Is it six in a row, on Fridays?

Thanks Mike. I'm there, and I didn't watch TPIR before. It's all the publicity that caught my interest. All the people saying that Drew was bombing made me want to judge for myself, and now I'm hooked!

I love those numbers. Congrats to Drew and CBS! It appears they have a winner on their hands.

Mike, if you ever have time, I need to know about the screening process. I know they tell contestants to be enthusiastic. That's done on all game shows. Still, TPIR has some of the most excited contestants I've ever seen.
