Default My Three Sons and Mannix heading to DVD!

Paramount has announced that they will be releasing the first season (in volumes) of My Three Sons and the first season of Mannix on June 3rd, 2007. The Odd Couple season 4 is also coming out June 10th.

Great classic TV releases!

Here's the info:

Classic Fred MacMurray Series Announceed: Box Art & Release Date
Studio Officially Announces Mannix - The 1st Season DVDs
Release Date & Box Art for Odd 4th Season DVDs

Looks like M3S will be released in typical Paramount packaging, the snap case/flip things. I guess Mannix will be also.

My Three Sons is a good show and I wished they would have released them in season sets. With 12 seasons being put out in half seasons it will take forever to come out with the complete series.
I am glad I got my copy (complete series) from ioffer.com --no fuss no waiting!

I guess you haven't heard the bad news about "MS3". Paramount has announced that it's delayed!

I'm happy about Mannix. My Three Sons I don't care about because I have the first 5 seasons complete from Nick at Nite and I don't really care about the rest of the series.

No way My Three Sons could make it through 24 sets. I hate this whole splitting the seasons in half. They're just trying to steal our money. Especially since it's a half hour show. Bewitched has like 38 episodes in some seasons, but still gets full season sets.

Hate to burst one's bubble and I would like to see My Three Sons on the DVD schedule to add to my collection! Unfortunately, the title's been recalled by Paramount/CBS Home Video for obvious reasons.

Here's the explanation to the story:

Maybe they got paranoid that the old episodes with "Bub" wouldn't sell well, since they haven't been repeated as much over the years as the ones with "Uncle Charley". Someone in the "younger generation" might see William Frawley's name instead of William Demarest, and think, "WHAT?!?".

I think it's a rights issue. The announced it and then someone must have realized that the Fedderson estate may still have some rights. That's my guess.

I just bought a set from I-Offer about a year ago. They are taped from tv but I can't wait until I am 80 years old for this series to finally get a complete release. It is nice to be able to watch it at my leisure.

If it is a rights issue, funny how MPI had no problems releasing family affair (also fedderson) in 5 beautiful sets, all in a nice 2 year timely manner! with extras I might add!!!

I wonder if it has something to do with how the show was syndicated. Remember it was sliced up into two parts with half of one season in the first and the second half of that same season in the other half. That was really weird.

Could you explain further, because I don't understand what you mean?...My Three Sons was syndicated like this.....the black & white seasons (5 years) in the late 60's, the color years (7 years) in the 70's but they left out season 12 until it was finally seen again in the 90's on nick at nite and Oddysey channel
