Default Ladies, do you have trouble buying bras?

I haven't found a bra that feels comfortable in years. After years of fumbling with none that feel comfortable I had a bra fitting and they still feel tight. Now I wonder if my ribs have changed. Every bra I put on feels as a rope is around my chest. Any suggestions. I am age 50.

I know how you feel. The one brand that I found that seems to be more comfortable than any other I have worn is the new line from Queen Latifah. It is called CURVES. It is for larger sized breasts. I don't know if that is the issue with you but that is my problem. Not a problem with my man of course. But with me, it is. You probably need to be measured by a professional in the lingerie department to know exactly what your size/measurements are since over time they do change and any slight weight gain around the rib area can change the bra size.

OMG... YES! I have a VERY hard time finding bras in my size! You see, I'm petite but I'm ridiculously endowed. Last time I measured myself, it came out a 34G (or 34FF, depending on how you want to look at it) and I have days where I could easily be wearing a 34H.

The problem with that for me is they don't carry my size AT ALL in ANY of the stores. So I HAVE to buy them exclusively online. Which just pisses me off more, because online retailers have a thing about not taking back bras if it's obvious that you've tried it on before you returned it to them.

IT IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One day I will make a man wear a bra with really large cups, and stuff the cups with balloons full of flour and make him walk around for 18 hours with it... and he CANNOT take the bra off. I'd hope to make at least one guy have respect for females who are naturally endowed. Believe me, I didn't ask to be THIS endowed.

Coffeecup, it definitely sounds like you were incorrectly fitted. After coming across far too many websites that would give me directions on how to measure myself, but they'd still come out inaccurately, I found this really helpful guide... I am gonna have to search for it and give it to you. It's a better idea, IMO, to measure yourself.

No, not for fitting reasons. I just can't find a style that I think is flattering. I keep getting these ones that squish and flatten. I hate that.

This was the sizing guide I found to be the most accurate for me. Give it a shot. You might be surprised at what you come out with.

Cathy, you must be talking about minimizers. I hate these with a flaming passion! Try a T-shirt bra that with light padding. It gives you support without doing any squishing, and it won't hurt your wallet.

Minimizers....ugh...I don't want to minimize. I'm not that big!

I'll check those out. Not that I need more bras...I already have more than 2 weeks worth.

Most are Target brands. Cherokee and GOM. So they weren't too expensive.

And I spend too much $$ on clothes anyway. I have 3 months worth of winter tops.

I do. I'm (usually) a 34A but sometimes I could easily be a B cup. They swell so much some days for no reason and it's really annoying. However, I find that an underwire with a strechy cup and medium straps usually does the job and even offers a little cleaveage!

Victoria's Secret bras usually run small and I love them for that. <3

...And when I buy panty/bra sets from the BX, the panties are waaaaaay too small. I guess companies figure, small chested, small everywhere else. Not so...

Urg, Allison, you can give me some of your endowment, I wish I were a "C" or a full "B", haha.

I'd be more than happy to. It's extremely annoying having to wear a fitted top like a button-down in the next size up, thanks to my endowement. (I normally wear a size M in t-shirts but wear size L's for button-downs so they fit fine on top but too big on the bottom. Whatever)

Oh, and I'm trying to pick up a pair of ladies' Hanes undershirts sometime soon. I may not be able to fit in their size XL top, because they say it's designed for a 40" - 42" bust. And, yes, I'm bigger than that. Ugh!
