Default Paul McCartney Snubs Ozzy Osbourne Duet

Paul McCartney has disappointed pal Ozzy Osbourne by declining an opportunity to duet with the rocker at the 2008 Brit Awards. The former Black Sabbath singer - who will co-host the ceremony with his wife/manager Sharon - was ecstatic at the prospect of fulfilling his lifelong dream of sharing the stage with the former Beatle.

But McCartney, 65, has since decided to perform a simple solo set instead.

He says, "You can either go for something wow or just do a couple of hits - I've opted for the latter. I'm quite happy to be just doing stuff that I hope the audience will like."

He adds, "This year will be outstanding - because Ozzy is presenting."

The annual awards ceremony will take place in London on February 20.

Oh No Why Macca blew off the Ozzy duet

No, probably because Ozzy can't sing much anymore anyway. His voice is so over-produced, and he can't sing very high at all. High, as in an upper vocal register, not as in...Sweet Leaf, Snowblind, and Demon Alcohol.

It's really weird, last week people at work were talking about Marilyn Manson and the body suit he wore on the cover of 'Mechanical Animals' which made him look like he had female breasts. Someone asked, "Who's the guy who bites the heads off of RATS?" And I said, oh, are you talking about Ozzy Osbourne? But I was a little miffed, because, wow, the most infamous incident in rock and roll, and they not only can't get the performer's name, nor get the incident's details correct!

For the record, Ozzy DOES NOT (present tense) bite the heads off of rats! Another thing, it was a BAT (like it really matters whether it was bats or rats!! ) that he munched on ONE TIME at a concert in Des Moines in 1982. He did it because he thought the one someone threw onto the stage was a rubber toy, and he decided to pander to the audience by replaying the dove-biting incident from before by chomping its head off--only to find to his horror, that bats are RABID and he had to go in for a series of painful rabies shots!!

I've heard so many people make the comment that Ozzy went through a virtual menagerie of animals with his teeth, and plenty of farm fowl that would make an ornithologist drool with envy. NO--it was just the dove, as a drunken prank, and the bat. But for all that Ozzy has ever done with Black Sabbath and in his own solo career, no one is ever going to let him live down the whole bat-biting thing. I can imagine worse things done--wait, when I think about it, that was very consistent with Ozzy's mental state at the time, and he's done worse. But I figure, if people are going to single out Ozzy, at least get their facts straight!!
