Default TDVDS On Your PC

Of course we all have the dvd's, but you can watch all 6 public domain eps of TDVDS, as well as other classics on your laptop or PC from this website:

How did those six episodes become public domain? That's interesting.

I've tried to track down the specifics before, and came up with nothing, Lolac. I've heard it was due to a "clerical error". According to Wikipedia.org, "For reasons that are unclear, six episodes from the second season have lapsed into the public domain..."
I'm sure this had to be a blow to Carl, Dick, Danny, and Sheldon.

That's happened to other shows, too. There are certain eps of Andy Griffith and Bonanza that have slipped into the public domain for some reason.

I bought a DVD at CVS Pharmacy for 1 dollar that had four of the six shows that are on that web site.

Do they use the original theme song on the DVD you bought at CVS? Usually they can't do that on the public domain eps.

Many older shows have random episodes in the public domain. Petticoat Junction has 7, The Andy Griffith Show has 16, and TDVDS has six just off the top of my head. Probably the most significant amount of episodes of a particular TV show in the public domain is OZZIE AND HARRIET. As Mill Creek proved when they released their monumental OZZIE set, there are at least 100 of those shows floating around in PD. Another show that the PD studios can milk alot out of is THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. LOVE THAT BOB, BURNS AND ALLEN, THE JACK BENNY SHOW, THE RED SKELTON SHOW, and virtually every other 50s TV show (sans THE HONEYMOONERS and I LOVE LUCY) are available as well.

Yeah, PD shows are a dime a dozen. I've bought a few, but they're not great quality or anything close to it.
