Default Now Featuring...angel On The Island

I think Ginger's sadness is so pathetic in the crying scenes; you can really feel for her. She seems truly devastated!

Natalie does a great job of playing Lovey trying so hard to play Cleopatra well but not doing the job that Ginger does.

Ginger really does look great as Cleopatra.

Poor Skipper!

Why all the seats in the audience for the play?

I wonder who Maryann plays in the play and is the Professor in it--they don't say.

Do you think Gilligan wants to be in it when he's playing all those roles or does not really want to be in it?

I always wondered how the Professor's "telephone" system was supposed to work. He never followed through with it (or is this just another GI thing that was "dropped"?).

The Skipper underwear scene is great! This is a pretty funny episode. The "My Friends in the Forest" bit is great too.

It was kind of mean of Lovey to steal Ginger's role; she's usually a kind person. Perhaps it was all jealousy-based regarding Thirston. What do you think? But, she didn't stay mean for long.

P.S. It's lonely over here--please add your comments. I'm going to continue to do this anyway, regardless, hoping someone out there will comment on an episode at some point with me. (I know some of you have)

All the seats ? You never know when a tribe of headhunters, or a rock band, will saunter by and want to see the play!

Lovey did not like the attention and compliments that Thurston was giving to Ginger!!!!

She certainly does. She, more than anyone, seems to have lost out by being shipwrecked.

I also find Ginger's crying in "It's Magic" very convincing. She's actually got tears in her eyes.

Yes! Mrs. Howell is an hilariously dreadful actress! But watch her when Thurston shouts at her for being clumsy the way he does at Gilligan. She freezes him right then and there. "Don't yell at me." I think that, and his obvious fawning on Ginger, was exactly what sparked her insecurity. She was just completely out of her element.

He's so caught up in his own vanity that he won't even listen when Gilligan's trying to make a case to help Ginger. In fact, the Skipper seems to have forgotten that Ginger was the whole reason they were putting on the play.

He seemed to enjoy playing the messenger and the major domo, but the maid looked like a last-minute addition. He also seemed surprised at all the costume changes. I get the impression they rewrote bits of the script and didn't tell him. He gets high marks for improvisation, though: he plays four roles better than the Skipper plays just one!

Did Ginger ever know what Gilligan did for her here? I'd like to think Mrs. Howell had the good grace to tell her.
