Yes, according to the IMDB, David wrote for SNL during the 84-85 season, and only one sketch he wrote made it to the show.

In fact, it was his frustration with SNL that only one of his sketches made it that became the episode of Seinfeld where George tells off his boss and quits. Then he realizes later that it wasn't a good idea, so Jerry suggests going back on Mon.morning and pretend it never happened. Larry did the same thing with his boss at SNL. Not sure if it was Lorne Michaels but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

no lorne had nothing to do with the 1984/85 season dick ebersol was still in charge of the show and he didnt get larrys sense of the absurd at all ive always wondered if larry would have done better at snl had lorne been his boss
