Default The Lucy Show on DVD

I left a message on Ken Ross' answering machine. The message was over four minutes long. I will continue to leave messages and write letters to Mr. Ross. I have had enough "I Love Lucy" DVDs and the public domain "Lucy Shows." It's time that we have a season by season release for the classic "Lucy Show."

That's great rjt100! I am mailing my letter out tomorrow! I too have had enough milking of "I Love Lucy" on DVD. As much as I love "I Love Lucy" and am greatful that it was released unedited, it's time to see Lucy's other hilarious shows. Hopefully all the fans will write to CBS in a respectful way and we can get their attention! Thanks for the address!

Default The Lucy Show on DVD

I had gotten a return call from Ken Ross' secretary. She was very sweet but not very helpful. I told her about this site and she did take the time to look at it while I was on the phone. She claimed that Mr. Ross is not the only person who would be responsible to bring The Lucy Show to DVD. She told me to call back in a month or so. I told her that next time I call back I would hope to speak to Mr. Ross and get some more feedback. I also had told her that I couldn't believe the crap that CBS/Paramount has been releasing and that I had bought "The Untouchables" season 1 volume 2 because they had an episode of "The Lucy Show" in the release (Lucy the Gun Moll - a classic). I will not give up. "The Lucy Show" is a comedy classic and should be released in 2008.

That episode is not any DVD set (legally) or in the public domain issues.

I just don't understand why they don't release this show. I have heard it is because they don't feel there is enough demand for it. It doesn't make sense, especially when they release so many shows with undoubtedly lesser demand. I wish someone could explain how they can release 30 episodes of series on DVD from all these different dealers and Paramount can claim it is because the copyright "lapsed" on those particular episodes. Is the copyright held on an entire series rather than per episode anyway?

I called today and the Executive assistant told me that the Lucy Show is currently in the works. She said that they have received numerous requests for that show, and that it should be out within the next year. I also inquired to see if Gregg Oppenheimer would be involved in the production as well, and she said that she believed so. This means that we should have high-quality sets like I Love Lucy with plenty of extras!

Great news...so stop buying those awful public domain DVD's (I picked up some myself from Cracker Barrel a few months ago)!

If indeed this information is true (I'm not doubting you, I'm just saying if the executive secretary wasn't just blowing smoke or had her information wrong) then this is the best information I've heard in a long, long time! Thanks for the great news!!!!

I was just searching around the net for any news on the forthcoming release and was just about giving up hope that they would release Season One. I'm glad I read this post. Thanks for sharing the advance news with us! I am excited to hear it is "in the works" and I look forward to buying it on the day of release. I hope it is a "Complete First Season" set. I have a feeling this is gonna be a huge seller for CBS.

THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!!!!! Season 1 is bound to be a huge seller for CBS, which would encourage at least seasons 2 and 3 to get released!!

Don't get your hopes up. They will tell you anything to get you off the phone. I will believe only when tvshowsondvd.com officially announces it.

Thanks Ethel Mae...I totally agree. The secretary was most likely using a tactic to get them off of the phone. However, I hope I am wrong and that The Lucy Show is in the works. My contacts still say it is NOT in the works. I only hope these rumors aren't discouraging people from letting their voice be heard to CBS. We need to keep writing in until the release is offically reported.

Default Call back from Ken Ross' secretary

I just checked my phone messages and got one from Ken Ross' secretary. She said, as-of-yet, there is no release date but claims they are working on it and that they have received tons of calls regarding "The Lucy Show" coming to DVD. This is not a good enough answer. We need to have more people leaving messages and writing letters.
