Default Season 3 is really funny!

Since the studios haven't released season 3 on dvd, I picked up a copy of the complete series from a personal collector and I've already watched 11 episodes and they are really funny.

The "Melissa" episode is great. I remember seeing that one when I was younger. I loved the girls night out episode when Addy, Angie and Nell go out to a club. Angie was only in a handful of episodes but I always got a kick out of her.

Anyhow, I can't understand how they are going to stop releasing the show before one of it's very best seasons. But I think it does have something to do with music rights. I've noticed a lot of music this season. In "Joey (part 2)", Nell and Joey sing "Me and My Shadow". In "The Groupie", Andy Gibb sings a song of his and then he and Nell sing "Up Where We Belong". In the episode where the girls go out to a club, Nell performs a solo song at the piano at the end. Plus they used "Maniac" from Flashdance a couple of times. So this has to be the reason why it's being held up. But other than that, tv fans should take notice of this show. It's really become a hidden jewel as of late since it hasn't been on in syndication a lot. Someone needs to pick this show up.

I agree with this poster that there were a "lot" of "great" episodes in season three! If you read my recent thread titled "Oliver" you will know which episode from this season is my absolute favorite! I also agree with the last poster that the one about Mellissa was pretty good. Another one that I liked is the one in which Nell and the chief entertain the mayer. In any event, I "really" wish that they would release this season on DVD!

I have a set from a collector on the way as well

Season 3-4 were the best from the reruns I've seen. This is one of the worst shows to abandon because the first season is probably the weakest besides season 6 tho. I know it's going to be really odd seeing little Joey Lawrence now though, considering I love the 30-something bald Joseph

I'm watching Season 4 now and it is my favorite season so far. I think it is when the show hit its prime. I loved watching the New Orleans 2-parter. Was that really filmed there? It looked like it was. Must have been a big deal at the time. It was a great episode. The end of part one was a little chilling when Joey sees someone he recognizes.

I think one of the main reasons why the show is not continued so far on dvd is music. I've noticed several songs used (in their original state, instrumentally, or sung by a cast member) like "Thriller" and "Let's Hear It For The Boy" along with some songs Nell sings that I'm not familiar with. I love when she accidentally gets up on stage in the New Orleans episode and sings the gospel song. Hysterical!

It is strange. I have been thinking the same thing as I've been watching him on the show. He really grew up to be a hot looking guy.

I don't have the schedule handy, but anyone in the Chicago area, Gimme A Break is back on the air, on a new channel "Me Too" (sister channel to their original classic TV channel "Me TV"). I'm not in the Chicago area, but am close enough to receive most of their channels over the air. Unfortunately, it looks like this new "Me Too" channel (UHF 48) isn't strong enough for me to get at all

This is where a lot of studios go wrong. When I had the complete set in my hands, I was so excited to see all of the episodes. It's very appealing to be able to buy the entire series in one-shot deal.

I am bringing this thread to the top in hopes of stimulating some more conversation about the topic. I agree that season three was pretty good. My favorite episode in this season was "Samantha's Protest". Seeing Katie's bubble being bursted in the end was priceless! So far, I have posted quite a bit about this episode but gotten "very" little response! I would be very interested in what other fans think of this episode in general and my take on it in partiuclar. For those of you who are reading about this topic for the first time and who would like to know more about the episode, my most recent post about it on this site is called "Oliver". If you go down a few more threads, you will find a bunch more in which I offer different points of view about the episode in general and Katie getting what she deserved in particular. What do other fans think?

After reading the most recent post, I can see that the guy who submitted it is relatively new. The first thing that I would like to say is directed at him and it is "welcome aboard"! I will agree with this poster that the episode about Andy Gibb was pretty good. The main thing that I liked about this episode is the fact that it centered around Julie and she is the one that I had a "huge" crush on! However, this episode came out shortly before my favorite episode of that season and my third favorite episode of the entire series. I have already posted two messages about this episode on this very thread! Another thread that I recently posted a message about this episode is called "Was Anyone Else in Love with Kari Michaelson?" If anyone out there would like to know what I was thinking about this episode in the more distant past, they can go to threads such as "Bubble", "Burst" and "Jennifer". I would "love" to read what other fans think of these posts! Even though Lara Jill Miller's character was never quite my cup of tea, there were two reasons why I was happy to learn that the handsome guy from the protest was taking her to a movie at the end of the episode known as "Samantha's Protest". The first reason is that, because Samantha behaved in a manner much more respectable than Katie, she was much more deserving of a date with a cute guy. On top of this, because Julie was the one that I was hot for, I "loved" seeing her be proven right when she said to Katie, "he was not whisteling at you! He was calling his dog!" Before signing off, there is one more thing that I would like to add regarding this episode. When Samantha went to the protest, she did so under the advice of Nell. The exact words that Nell used were, "sit down and stand up for your rights!" I thought that this was great advice for Samantha. However, to keep from getting her bubble bursted any more, I think that there should have been special advice directed at Katie. This advice is, "get your hormones in check and keep you mits to yourself!"
