Default Something interesting from special one...

At the end of the last story, Burr gives us the names of seven fugitives then on the FBI's most wanted list. At least three later got their own UM segments: Leo Joseph Koury, Donald Eugene Webb and Victor Gerena.

Kind of interesting to see early exposure on these cases by UM.

I'm pretty sure they have all been captured with the obvious exceptions of Donald Eugene Webb and Victor Manuel Gerena. Webb has been a top ten fugitive the longest and Gerena is a close second, although it should be noted that Webb is presumed dead and has been removed from the list. Here is a link detailing some other top 10 fugitives in those days. Most of those mentioned on UM's special 1 are listed

It's not currently on any network (at least not on any American network). But the show will be on Spike TV this coming fall.

Speaking of Leo Koury, not sure if anyone here knows this but apparently he was never captured but did die. Here's an article about his death:

Leo Koury Dies at 56; Was Fugitive Since '79

AP
Published: June 23, 1991
Leo J. Koury, who was wanted for two murders here and had been on the F.B.I.'s 10-most-wanted list since 1979, died of a brain hemorrhage at a San Diego hospital last Monday. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Koury had been admitted to the hospital under an alias, William Franklin Biddle. On Friday, an anonymous caller told an acquaintance of Mr. Koury about his death, and the acquaintance notified the authorities.

Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation here said they had not yet determined what Mr. Koury had been doing in San Diego or how long he had been there.

Mr. Koury, who owned several Richmond bars catering to homosexuals, was indicted in 1978 on numerous charges resulting from his feud with rival owners of gay bars. Among the accusations was that he had killed a bouncer at one bar and had sent a gunman to another, where one person was killed and another wounded.

Soon after his indictment, he vanished. When he died, he had been on the current most-wanted list longer than anyone else.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

I'm 100% certain that the "Lifetime" version of this story has an update on Biddle/Koury.

The one who nobody is really sure is dead or alive is Donald Eugene Webb although the FBI assumes he has passed on due to the fact the removed him from the list.

You are 100% correct. The Lifetime rerun included an update which confirmed that Khoury was deceased.
