Does anyone remember this case, or know when it aired? One of the robbers was identified as Lloyd Gates. The other was Andrew Verdogeaux(sp?). Gates was arrested after seeing the case on UM. Friends convinced him to turn himself in. I don't think this story made it to Lifetime. Does anyone have any more information or know if Verdogeaux was ever apprehended?

Wasn't that the segment where the reenactments included a robber making one of the victims comfortable by having the person use a bag of rolls as a pillow? If so, I never saw it on Lifetime. I only saw it on NBC during the 1993-94 season.

The update I was referring to aired on 11/23/88. I am trying to pinpoint when the actual story aired. It had to have been 10/5, 10/12, 11/2 or 11/9. I have the 10/26 and 11/16 broadcasts taped and the story does not appear on either date. |

Kane,
Do you remember the segments on the Grandpa Bandit and Milk Crate Bandit? I believe these segments aired together in 1992 or 1993, but I'm not sure if they made it to Lifetime. The Grandpa Bandit utilized fake bombs as a diversion. After he left the bank, the bomb squad had to come in. The Milk Crate Bandit case was memorable, for me, because it was believed to have been an inside job. The robber seemed very familiar with bank procedure and conducted his robbery after the bank's daily cash delivery had been received. Like the above mentioned Shopping Bag Bandit segment, I have these taped but can't recall if they ever made it to Lifetime. |

I have a very distinct memory of watching the show in a hotel room in 1995 I believe and both the Pacific Northwest Grocery Store Bandits (This was the infamous one with the hamburger buns right?) and a case involving an older man pulling a heist (Grandpa Bandit?) airing in the same episode. I dunno if that helps you any but I'm sure they aired together at one point.
