I first heard of this wonderful term while watching, "The Stepford wives(remake with Nicole Kidman). In the audio commentary, Frank Oz says, "In this part, Peter is being led into the secret men's club. But you see, only a hand reaches out to welcome him. That's off-kilter." I liked that term from the moment I heard the word in AC! I even use it on SO sometimes! P.S. Off-kilter means something's not right.
